 I surf. I love. I capture. I am.

Growing up in the Thill family there was no replacement for the great outdoors. They served as our backyard and our playground. It was there I learned what it could mean to express myself creatively, emotionally and spiritually. It was there I found myself, and there ~ sneaking through barbed wire fences for an evening of catch and release, creeping gently up a river bank in a luscious meadow, fly-rod in hand, or just the simple evening outings in our family boat at the local lake ~ that I found my family. I like to believe we all benefited from the time we spent being unplugged and naturally attuned to the organic nature of our beautiful planet. My Father, likely with camera in one hand and chatting someones ear off about his cameras cool new settings, through grace taught me of the ever changing nature of water, which in turn, prepared me for the ever changing landscape of my life. My Mother, sometimes found perched on the banks showing everyone who's really the boss fisher, has taught me a level of compassion I don't have words for through the actions of her tender soul. My Brother, likely in his magnificent and ever growing garden, has shown me the importance of being true to oneself, and to never give up. As has my Sister, the only one brave enough to break off a little family of her own. She has shown me the true beauty of creation, as her family continues to teach me to this day. It is thought the filters I developed while growing up with these individuals that I now see and capture the natural world.

Fast forward thirty years and nowadays one can likely find me rambling about the Garden Island in my trusty '89 Toyota pickup with my hand shaped custom surfboard hanging out of the back, likely with camera in hand. Always keen on a good wave or a good sunset, surfing and shooting are two places I connect myself to an authentic state of being. Look me up if you're visiting Kaua'i for a shoot, a slide or a chill...
